Xcaret Eco Park has to be one of the most interesting locations for a wedding anywhere. During the day a family theme park with an awesome underground river, at night the resort is known as a very special wedding location with a couple of unique Catholic chapels and outdoor ceremony locations as well as some amazing reception sites and interesting photo session locations. Rudy and Marissa came from the states for a very special Mexico wedding and it really was unforgettable. We started the evening with photography in an area of the park overlooking the ocean- so beautiful! The colors that the bridesmaids and groomsmen really popped against the amazing turquoise Playa del Carmen water. I loved finding out that Marissa and I had a couple of major things in common- we come from the same state and went to the same college (Go Green!) and we love photographs! Our time for pre-ceremony photos was not lengthy but being on the same wavelength and a lovely couple made it easy to put the time to creative use. The Guadalupe Chapel was the spectacular location for the ceremony (and especially perfect since it is covered and kept everyone nice and dry when it rained!). Bride and groom lead their guest to the beachfront reception (accompanied by a mariachi band of course!) And I am sure everyone’s jaw dropped when they arrived and encountered the spectacular reception ambience. Our friends from Weddings Riviera Maya hit it out of the ballpark with the reception set up, it really looked incredible…And even though it suddenly poured again as dinner was being served everyone was able to relocate to a backup spot to continue to PARTY! Gracias Marissa and Rudy– Emily and I loved meeting you and had a fantastic time with you on your day, we hope you will enjoy the photographs for years and years!
