This photo session in Playa del Carmen at the Banyan Tree Mayakoba definitely checked all the boxes. A relaxed, expressive and very happy couple on a gorgeous day. It was a perfect opportunity for engagement photography prior to their civil ceremony. Here are a few tips in case you are also looking to remember this time in your lives with beautiful, natural photographs.
1. Select a location that holds significance for your relationship, whether you have travelled there and are exploring it together or a place that has significance to you as a couple.
2. Wear outfits that make you feel confident and comfortable. I recommend coordinating to complement each other without falling into matchy-matchy territory.
3. Be Yourselves and trust an experienced portrait photographer: The biggest worry I from prospective clients before the session is that they don’t know how to pose. My advice is to just be yourselves! Don’t be afraid to laugh, be silly, or show affection as these moments make for great photos, at the same time you don’t need to force any of those things because I’ve done this a million times and once we get started it will flow naturally.
4. Communicate openly about your vision, preferences, and any specific shots you have in mind, the more heads the better!
5. Relax and Enjoy the Moment: Don’t stress about everything being perfect. This is a celebration of your love, so relax, enjoy each other’s company, let yourselves be surprised by the end result.
