I’m excited to share the photos from Alba and Gerardo’s wedding at Hacienda Xcatanun by Angsana, Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. The photos make me smile!

This was a perfect day full of joy. A very special Merida wedding hacienda, Xcanatun, was the perfect venue for this particular wedding. After all, Alba and Gerardo’s wedding was an intimate wedding. At least compared to some of our pre-pandemic local Merida weddings it was a close friends and family affair. Photographing more smaller scaled weddings like this one is a nice side effect of the challenges of the last months. Because there are fewer people the events tend to have wonderful energy- every can really let loose and show their love and happiness to bride and groom!

This wedding was coordinated by a fanastic team: Celebra Coordinacion de Eventos I love the personal touches, like the flower decoration of the Xcanatun chapel where we photographed Alba and Gerardo’s first look. The tabletop design for the dinner held inside the hacienda´s Casa de Piedra restaurant also had every detail on point. I took too many photos of the tables! You´d think after all these weddings watching the best around I would be a table styling pro, but sadly I haven´t yet found the time to make it happen!

I smiled at the choice to include the couple’s Boston Terrier, Luna. Who can resist a cute dog with a flower wreath?

Before heading to the Catholic ceremony at the Nuestra Señora de Libano church, we had time alone with the couple. It was a really quiet and private time to photograph their first look and photographs of the two of them around the hacienda property. Hacienda Xcanatun by Angsana has beautiful tropical gardens and an upscale relaxed feel,a perfect backdrop for the photos.
